Men’s and Women’s Doubles

A social, yet competitive event

Draws will be posted prior to the tournament at
www.kimatkins.net and updated during
tournament play

Matches will be played at Pine Log, Maxell and Salem High School . Other Facilities in Conyers may be utilized
if needed

This is a single elimination tournament (If
fewer than 4 teams participate in any division a round robin will be played
instead of single elimination)

Players in the tournament will be
placed in the event brackets using a combination of
both their ALTA (A,B,C) levels
(excluding mixed doubles) and USTA
ratings (4.0,3.5,3.0)

Matches will begin on Saturday
and continue on Sunday. To help beat the heat and facilitate scheduling, matches
may begin as early as 7:30 a.m. on both days.

Barring inclement weather, teams will not play
more than 2 matches per day
-
The finals will be on Sunday
August 24 at Maxell

Each round will be the best 2 out of 3 sets (a
full third set is to be played if sets are tied at 1 all)

The champion will be the team with the winning
record and will be determined by
-
Winner of most individual matches
-
Winner Head-to-Heat
-
Loser of the fewest sets
-
Loser of the fewest games
-
In the event of a tie, a sudden death match
will be played
-
This is a recreational/non-sanctioned
tournament.

USTA Rules DO apply

There will be a tournament chair person at each
site to answer rule questions. They will not act as line umpires

Balls will be provided and the coin toss will
be done by the tournament chairs
-
There will be a ten minute warm up before each
match
-
Please check in at your match facilities

Point penalty system (USTA) rules. The
following rules apply for failure to be on the court at match times:
no warm up. and....
0-5 minutes late....forfeit toss and 1 game
5:01 - 10:00 minutes....forfeit toss and 2
games
10:01 - 15 minutes forfeit toss and 3 games
15:01 minutes late... forfeit match
The Family Doubles Event

All matches will be played on Sunday @ Pine Log
beginning at 7:30am
-
Balls will be provided and the coin toss will
be done by the tournament chairs

The teams have been divided into three groups
based on the Age & Ability combination
-
Each group will play a round robin amongst
themselves
-
Each team will play all other teams within that
group
-
Each match will be a TOTAL of 8 games with
regular add scoring (Each player will serve twice)
-
In the event of a tie, a sudden death 4 game
match will be played
-
At the end of the match, scores will be
reported to the front desk and the next match will be assigned
-
The team in each group with the most games won,
will be the winner of that group
